PortlandThe Soundtracks are along time comin'. I was in my first band White Water in 1976 with Robert 'Maddog' Johnson on bass.
Chet's Family Kitchen was our venue. These current guys & gals are an accumulation of those experiences.
I first heard 'live' music in my hometown of Olympia,Washington when I was 16 other than the odd acoustic guitar or pianist.
They we're the Dirt Road (that name was way before Brooks & Dunn Red Dirt Road) & they we're playing Robert Johnson's Crossroads.
It was the most exciting thing I had ever witnessed!
I would love to know what has become of the members of the Dirt Road. They we're playing in front of Goldberg's Furniture in downtown Oly.
I was first inspired to play guitar by listening to Eric Clapton in Cream.
I furthered my education by obtaining a Degree in Music Performance (Evergreen State College) & Music Education (Portland State University)
The present line up is the best musicians I've ever worked with other than Mr. Stephen Price of the Oregon Symphony (we played a jazz duo) a good friend for almost 4 decades.
My wife Kathleen & I had been married 36 yrs. We met at in Estacada,Oregon at a KUPL Free Day in the Country in 1980.The music headliner that day was Gary Morris.
I lost my beautiful Kathleen’s voice on July 31st,2017 to cancer.
